Hi, my name is Jen, and welcome to my website.
A little bit about me: I've been coaching and editing writers' content since 2013, and nothing gives me more pleasure than revising a piece until its as perfect as it can be. Through my time at the Columbia Missourian newspaper, I've learned how to package multimedia stories, write SEO headlines and use metrics to influence story ideas.
I've written and edited on a variety of topics, from traditional beats in politics and education to more niche subjects such as clock repairing and Machiavellian tendencies in Shakespearean characters.
I grew up in Rogers, Arkansas, (the northwest corner where Walmart started) and then spent six years in Columbia, Missouri, for school. I graduated from the University of Missouri with bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis in creative nonfiction, and I'm finishing up my master's degree in journalism with an emphasis in news editing.
Right now, I'm looking for a full-time job in communications or the media that uses my editing, reporting and social media skills. I coded this site from scratch, so I also have basic HMTL and CSS skills.
